Raed "Ray" Abboo, Managing Attorney
|
Raed (Ray) Abboo is a trial and appellate attorney recognized for disciplined preparation, rigorous legal analysis, and a relentless focus on results. His practice centers on the defense of complex negligence claims, catastrophic injury litigation, premises liability matters, federal civil rights litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and all forms of Personal Injury Protection and provider litigation under the Michigan No-Fault Act. He also maintains an active mediation practice, assisting parties in resolving high-stakes disputes with efficiency, clarity, and fairness.
Mr. Abboo has secured dismissals or defense victories in more than half of the litigated matters he has handled. His advocacy has helped shape Michigan law, including a published decision of the Michigan Court of Appeals in which the Court adopted his legal analysis and reversed the trial court. In 2023, he recovered $7,000,000 for a Michigan insurer in contested litigation and has consistently delivered substantial results for carriers and corporate clients facing significant financial exposure. Throughout his career, he has also recovered millions of dollars for insurers in reimbursement matters, obtained decisive victories on motions for summary disposition, and established precedent concerning contractual indemnity and risk-transfer obligations. Before founding Abboo & Associates PLLC, Mr. Abboo practiced for a decade at a well-regarded Midwest insurance defense firm, where he represented national insurers, corporations, and self-insured entities in high-exposure litigation. Earlier in his career, he practiced on the plaintiff side, recovering more than two million dollars in settlements within a single year. That dual perspective provides him with a strategic advantage in anticipating and neutralizing the arguments and tactics advanced against insurers and corporate defendants. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Abboo is a certified mediator who regularly facilitates negotiations for attorneys, insurance professionals, corporations, and self-insured entities. His mediation style combines deep legal knowledge, candid case evaluation, and a practical commitment to achieving durable resolutions. |
